Navigating Around this Web Site
The CMRS web site has:
- A home page,
- Other main pages,
- Sub-pages,
- Off-site links.
The home page is the starting point for any web site. In our case, it contains the full name of the society, an introduction to the site, links to all of the other main pages and additional useful information.
Other main pages contain information on subjects of major interest to members of the CMRS. Each main page contains a navigation bar which provides direct access to all of the other main pages including the home page.
Sub-pages contain additional information beyond what is included on the main page. Sub-pages do not contain a navigation bar.
For example on the NEWS page, if you click on news archive you go to the NEWS ARCHIVE sub-page.
Tip: To return to the main page you came from on this site, just click on the smoke at the top left of the viewing areaOff-site links take you to a page or site which is not part of the CMRS web site. You can possibly use your browser's Back button, a bookmark, or favorites entry to return to our site.
Document Format
Various documents on this web site are presented in Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format. This means:
- Every viewer will see the document in exactly the same format -- the format will not depend on which computer or browser is used, the preferences which the user has set, or the fonts installed, and
- You must have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed in your browser. This is quite common these days since many web sites present documents in this format.
Screen Resolution
This web site has been designed with a couple of assumptions:
- The viewer's screen resolution will be at least 800 x 600 pixels. This is very common these days. Many computers have a resolution in excess of this size. If your computer displays a higher resolution, you will see more content on a single screen display but the size of the displayed elements (such as fonts and graphics) may be smaller -- unless you have a larger monitor, and
- The viewer has a high speed Internet connection. Again, this is very common these days. This web site presents a number of graphical elements, particularly photographs, which have been rendered to provide a good compromise between file size and clarity and the site works best if you have a high speed Internet connection. If you only have a telephone modem connection, the loading time for many of the pages will be longer. If this is the case, we suggest you view our site on a computer which has a high speed Internet connection.
